Chemical Peels

For years, we have used chemical peels and acid treatments to make skin appear younger, and improve acne and discoloration. Dr. Edwards offers glycolic and salicylic acid peels as in-office treatments. These superficial peels are safe for all skin colors and types, and have very few side effects. They are repeated every 2-3 weeks until the desired result is achieved.

Radiesse

Radiesse is a dermal wrinkle filler that is used to correct and smooth out areas of the face that have lost collagen due to the normal aging process and have unsightly lines. The new age of dermal fillers are well advanced beyond the original collagen preparations that were used in the past. Radiesse is composed of calcium hydroxylapatite.

Radiesse is long-lasting, and is known for giving a result that looks and feels natural. It is used to correct lines around the mouth, and etched-in lines on the cheeks.

Typically, dermal fillers are absorbed by the body in several months, and have to be re-injected. Radiesse also requires follow-up treatments, but its effects can last 12-15 months because the Radiesse product itself provides immediate filling of the affected area, but it also stimulates collagen formation by the body.

The new collagen will remain in the skin after the Radiesse has been absorbed, prolonging the visible correction. It has no significant association with allergic reactions. It can be used in combination with other fillers, and causes minimal bruising.
